Advocate Rohan Jaitley, son of the late Union Minister Arun Jaitley, has been elected unopposed as the President of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). This comes after the only other candidate, Advocate Sunil Kumar Goel, withdrew his nomination ahead of the election deadline.
The final list of candidates was declared by the Election Returning Officer following the withdrawal period, paving the way for Jaitley’s unopposed victory. Elections for six other DDCA posts are scheduled to take place between November 5 and 8.
Speaking to PTI after filing his nomination, Rohan Jaitley expressed his commitment to enhancing Delhi cricket’s standards. “I don’t mind a contest—it’s good for the democratic process. The idea is to bring in good people at the right time to maintain checks and balances. I aim to work for the betterment of Delhi cricket and bring everyone on the same page to take the association to where it should be,” Jaitley said.
His unopposed election underscores the confidence the cricketing community has in his leadership and vision for DDCA’s future.
