Rohan Jaitley, President of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), expressed his admiration for young pacer Mayank Yadav after his impressive performance in IPL 2024, where he bowled the fastest delivery of the tournament at 156.7 KMPH.
Mayank’s debut for Lucknow Super Giants has made waves in the cricketing world due to his raw pace and bounce, leaving spectators in awe.
In an interview with IANS, Jaitley lauded Mayank Yadav’s talent, stating, “Mayank is an exceptional talent. He debuted for Delhi a few years ago and has had a tough time with injuries. It’s amazing to see how such a talent, after a tough rehab process, has come back stronger. As an administrator, it’s truly a moment of pride to see a player develop from our state and contribute to the future of Indian cricket.”
Jaitley recalled spotting Mayank post-Covid when domestic cricket resumed in a limited format, and he immediately recognized the potential of the budding fast bowler.
Additionally, Jaitley celebrated Rishabh Pant’s incredible comeback to competitive cricket following the life-threatening accident he suffered in 2022. He noted, “It’s marvelous to see Pant back on the field. After such a challenging recovery, his return is a testament to his resilience. The efforts behind the scenes in sports medicine and biomechanics are also praiseworthy. Everyone involved has done an extraordinary job to ensure Pant is back to doing what he does best.”
