Advocate Rohan Jaitley has been appointed as the Standing Counsel for the Central Government at the Delhi High Court. His tenure will span three years, effective from March 13, 2024, as per an order issued by the Department of Legal Affairs under the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India.
The appointment was made official by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, who also engaged several other legal experts for the role of Central Government Standing Counsels (CGSC) to represent the government in legal matters before the Delhi High Court.
Rohan Jaitley is a seasoned advocate with a robust practice at both the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. Beyond his legal career, he serves as the President of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), exemplifying his leadership skills across diverse domains.
Son of the late Arun Jaitley—a revered BJP leader and former Union Finance Minister—Rohan Jaitley brings a legacy of excellence to his profession. He holds a law degree from India and further honed his expertise by earning a Master’s in Law from Cornell University, USA.
